Since we have a new 96 up Vortec subsection, I thought I would make a new post. The 12200411 PCM can be installed into the 96 to 2000 GMT400 trucks simply by repining the PCM connector terminals. The wiring is slightly different between the 96, 97, and 98 to 2000 trucks. I have a 97 K3500 with new, warmed up L29 454 with ported heads and intake, comp 212/218 at .050 cam, stainless headers, 5-0 racing 30lb Bosch injectors, 2001 0411 swap from an L31 5.7L 2500 van, and best-guess initial tune for my setup by Black Bear on the 0411 (sorry..). Also thought of another reason to do this, thanks to a comment on one of my videos: For those who may want to put a Blazer DIC in their 96-97 upper console, hooking the fuel gauge and sender to the PCM will enable the DIC to show you remaining fuel mileage..
