The width difference is not much a G30 is 1.28 inches and a G36 is 1.10 inches. With a G30 having 10+1 verse 6+1 plus with a G30 my spare mag is a 13 round G21 mag. The 30 does shoot softer than the 27 and also affords you the benefit of a full grip. The 36 isn't bad either. It has slightly more felt recoil than the 30 due to lighter slide and thinner grip.
