But, I don't believe Benelli makes one that is 1" shorter, which is the only one worth changing to. I also am not a fan of pistol grip shotguns. For me, the pistol grip slows down transitions.I think they're better built than either the Remington or Mossberg. There are better stock options (pistol grip or ComforTech) on the SuperNova than the Nova (where the receiver and stock are one piece). You should be able to find a SuperNova for roughly $450. I own it in 12 and 20 and I own a Benelli SBE 2 (which is great) but as a beginner gun, the 870 will last decades, you can beat it up, and it shoots straight.To top that of I found it at a great price of $329. I came across it used and the price was right and it just felt more solid. I do believe that the 'basic' foundation of the gun and that of the Ithaca 37 were from JMB's design.The shorter neck on the Mossberg 590 is the cause of this annoying recoil. The longer this part is, the longer the impulse generated will have to travel and dissipate less. Yet, the 590 has a short neck, so it can't reduce the rebound force. The Nova has a stock shim kit to adjust mostly drop. Even if the gun fits it is still nice to be able to adjust drop for POI.
