It describes the manner of His love for fallen men.In these 32 verses, Jesus uses no less that 4 illustrations dealing with the lost and with God’s desire to see them saved and restored to fellowship with Himself. Verses 3-7 record the Illustration of the Lost Sheep. Verses 8-10 record the Illustration of the Lost Silver. Verses 11-24 give us the Illustration of the Lost Son.Intro: Becoming a Christian is about the easiest thing a person can do. After all, all the work has already been done! Jesus died on the cross to pay for sin. He rose from the dead to give life. He ascended back to Heaven to make intercession for us before the Father. The Father accepted the sacrifice of Jesus at the cross. 5 Seeketh Not Her Own - True love is “never selfish and self-centered”, but it is actively interested in what will profit others. It never looks at itself first, but it always considers another ahead of itself. Jesus is the prime example of this attitude in action, Matthew 20:28; Luke 22:42. Ø In our natural state four “Roman Nones” stood between us and usefulness to the Lord, Rom. 3:10-23. Ø In our natural state we were fit for nothing but the fires of Hell, Psa. 9:17. Ø In our natural state we were useless to God and separated from Him by a wide gulf of sin, Isa. 59:2. · That was our natural state!A. A New Dependence Upon The Word – Ill.
