When recording your P.38 information, list it as P.38, AC43 serial number 44m.BC means '12. i.e. 2012. S&W doesn't have a date code on their weapons. In fact, there is no easy way to determine the date of manufacture. In this case it's 2022. On the side of the frame, you should also find "DE 202#" where DE = Deutschland, 202# = year of production.
